What is The Hunter’s Experience?
This experience is the cornerstone of what we do. It brings everything together in what can only be described as an epic highland adventure that will have you track, hunt, skin, butcher and cook deer - with much more thrown in along the way. What’s most important to us as hunters, is what we’re going to share with you. It’s time in the wilderness. It’s respect for the incredible animals we call our quarry. It’s the experiences we share while hunting and the amazing things we see along the way.
After a successful and sold out Hunter’s Experience in 2022, we’ve taken on board feedback from guests and added in more evening fire cooking, a few more formal workshops on things like gralloching, knife care, hide preparation for tanning, and some we'll keep tucked up our sleeve for poor weather sessions.
This is a fully catered experience, you’ll be staying in a beautiful hunting lodge set within a 19,000 acre estate, all you need to do is turn up ready to learn and wanting to get out there!
The Hunter’s Experience January 2024 costs £1650 per person.

Our guests can look forward to:
Daily Red & Sika hind stalking on the hill and in the forest within the 19,000 acre estate;
Time on the range to ensure accurate shooting and an understanding of shot placement;
Equipment and rifle selection;
Formal workshops on Knife sharpening, tanning, Gralloching
Deer selection & gralloching in the field;
Extracting beasts via dragging, ATV's and trained ponies;
Skinning & butchery workshops in the estate's larder;
Deer management workshop;
Fire cooking to tease the appetite and warm the soul;
Accommodation on the estate will be provided, our guests will stay in the incredible lodge for the duration;
Fully catered, three meals a day prepared by our incredible chef with bits and pieces cooked over fire as we go;;
Fully kitted out games room for those that still have energy after a day on the hill.

Anyone who is interested in becoming deeply engaged in where their food comes from. Hunters wanting more than a simple outing in the hills. Hunters of all levels who want to further their skills and to engage with like-minded people.

All guests will be staying in the Lodge, a large historic building that has all the amenities one can expect from a traditional Scottish estate.
Every guest will enjoy their own room and ensuite bathroom, pure drinking water, central heating, and a constant supply of hot and cold water.
Great WiFi is available throughout the lodge.
The estate boasts a dedicated solar and wind-powered relay station and its own hydroelectric generator so the estate is completely off-grid, making everyone's stay that little more environmentally friendly.
Guests will also enjoy:
- brand new games room with pool, darts, table football, jukebox and bar (unstocked, but the wild order will stash a case or three behind the bar for those who would like an evening beer;
- drying room for wet boots etc. ;
- large commercial kitchen (fully catered stay by The Wild Order's chef);
- we would like to encourage guests to get involved in evening meals where possible and to cook some venison from the hill;
- incredible loch to walk around or to take a bracing dip in;
- Victorian cold room for all our butchery workshops;
- chiller for the venison;
- large range for everyone to work on their shooting skills;
- guests will also enjoy the Scottish hospitality and the incredibly knowledgeable and friendly employees of the estate and The Wild Order.

£1650 - The price is fully inclusive. This will cover all the stalking, accommodation and catering for the whole time you’re there.

The course will be led by our founder, Arthur Petherbridge, in partnership with the estate’s team of professional stalkers.

In line with our belief that the hunting world needs diversity and ease of access, we hope to be offering a fully sponsored position on this immersive hunting experience. The lucky applicant will be kitted out for their time on the hill and all costs covered, all they will need to do is get themselves to Scotland.
Applicants will need to write a short (no more than 500 words) essay stating why it should be them who win this incredible opportunity.
